Flora Borinqueniana
Flora Borinqueniana: Three Centuries of Botanical Illustrations was a temporary exhibition that explored the development of botanical knowledge in Puerto Rico and its historical context from the end of the 18th century to the first three decades of the 20th century. It was the first time that an exhibition on the island presented the history of the local botany, with illustrations, manuscripts, herbarium specimens, documents, works of art and other pieces from diverse national and international collections. Some of those works and objects had been forgotten or recently rediscovered, and had never been exhibited together.
Flora Borinqueniana was presented in two venues: Museo de Arte del Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez, and Museo de Historia, Antropología y Arte de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Río Piedras.
