Project by Rebeca Vicens Sánchez for Habitat for Humanity of Puerto Rico
Villa Prades
Rehabilitation of a single-family residence for Habitat for Humanity of Puerto Rico’s (HFHPR) housing program. The rehabilitation was done by general contractor X-pert Electrical and sponsored by corporate allies, including Starbucks, Alight Solutions, deShow/Banco Popular de Puerto Rico and C.R. Bibiloni Paisajismo. Over 10 volunteer brigades composed of high school and university students, as well as self-organized indivduals and employees of corporate sponsors, collaborated in constructions tasks, such as demolition, rebar installation, woodworking, painting and gardening. Residents of neighboring houses also collaborated and, in return, HFHPR helped some of them with minor improvements to their homes.
